My job hasn't changed: designing, writing and shipping code that holds up. How I do it has. With Claude Code and Codex, I steer the writing: I set the intent, the architecture and the rules, the tool speeds up execution, and every decision stays mine.

I also use them for code review. On each pull request, a first pass catches oversights, edge cases and deviations from the project's conventions. Then I review it myself, and I'm the one who signs off.

What I gain in speed, I reinvest before and after the code: really understanding the need, breaking down the domain, writing the tests. Shipping fast only has value if the code stays readable and easy to evolve a year later.
